Meet The Executive Team
BRITTANY LEUTH
President
A senior from Raleigh, N.C. Brittany Leuth is majoring in public relations and has a minor in political science. Brittany has interned for two PR and advertising agencies in the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Region including the number one sports PR firm and the south agency, French West Vaughn. Brittany is also a brand ambassador for The Intern Queen and works as a Career and Academic Peer Advisor in JMU's Student Success Center. Come see her for feedback on resumes and cover letters this year! Although busy with school and CAP, Brittany finds the time to play for JMU Club Tennis and races for the JMU Ski and Snowboarding Race Team. She looks forward to growing JMU's chapter of PRSSA as she serves as President for the 2017-2018 term.
LEILA OSTRIA
Vice President
Leila is a senior from Potomac, Maryland and serves as 2017-2018 Vice President for PRSSA. She is a senior majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in PR and a minor in Spanish. This past summer, Leila had the incredible opportunity to move to New York City to intern at two different companies: Screenvision Media, a cinema advertising company, and Gabriela Hearst, a high-end fashion designer. Leila says that PRSSA has given her incomparable experiences and opportunities that she would have never gotten if it weren’t for this organization, and the lessons learned are critical to our professional careers. Fun fact: She is a reality TV junkie and has seen Beyoncé in concert 15 times!
JENNA SCHNEIDER
Director of Professional Development
Jenna is a Senior at James Madison University double majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations, and Theatre and Dance with a concentration in Dance. She is the Director of Professional Development for PRSSA and cannot wait to get the year started! She was born and raised in New York but has absolutely loved Virginia the last 4 years. This summer she interned for 14 weeks at Crestron Electronics located in New Jersey and had an incredible experience. Jenna loves iced green tea lemonade and adores her dog, Clyde.
HAYLEY HALL
Director of Media Relations
Hayley is a senior from Smithfield, VA and serves as PRSSA's Director of Media Relations for the 2017-2018 term. She has a double major in Communication Studies and Media Arts & Design with respective concentrations in PR and Advertising. She is thrilled to combine her creative and professional skills as she manages the PRSSA web page as well as the social media channels. Hayley spent the summer of 2017 interning at INK & ROSES PR in New York City and is excited to incorporate all she learned into this year's PRSSA agenda. STEPHEN ABRAMOWITZ
Director of Internal Communication
Stephen Abramowitz is a Junior Communication Studies major from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He is concentrating in Public Relations and has a minor in Writing Rhetoric and Technical Communication (WRTC). Stephen serves as the JMU PRSSA 2017-18 Director of Internal Communication. He is currently interning as a writer for The Daily Duke, a university funded blog site. He is involved with the university rowing team and has served as the JMU campus brand ambassador for multiple companies.
JULIA SMITH
Director of Finance
Julia is a junior from Springfield, Virginia. She has a double major in Communication Studies (concentrating in PR) and SMAD (concentrating in Journalism). This is her second year serving as the Director of Finance for the PRSSA. She also plays intramural soccer and wrote for the news section of The Breeze during her first two years at JMU. Over the summer, she had a magnificent time studying public relations abroad in South Korea with chapter delegate, Jenna Scull, and faculty advisers, Dr. Woo and Dr. Kim. Looking forward, Julia hopes to further pursue public relations and keep an open mind about where life takes her.
JENNA SCULL
Chapter Delegate
Jenna Scull is currently a junior, pursuing a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Writing Rhetoric and Technical Communication. Jenna is thrilled to join the 2017-2018 Executive Board and will be serving as Chapter Delegate. When not in Harrison Hall, Jenna enjoys tutoring at the University Writing Center, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and playing tennis. This past summer she took her love for PR all the way across the world and studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea! After graduation, Jenna would be interested in working at a PR firm or media group in her hometown of Philadelphia.
